I'm assuming your using static IP addresses or dynamic ones in a
predefined range? Can you please confirm?
Basically though if DHCP addresses are used they will be issued by the
DHCP server (this could be the router but this is not necessary)
Most routers use the 192.168.0.xxx range. If your using this range I
don’t think you have to many problems.
Or you could always reconfigure your firewall.

When you say static you mean internal addresses (your network) or
external Internet facing addresses?
I can’t comment on all routers but the Netgear range can have dhcp
enabled or disabled and the range can be limited so static IPs can be
allocated. Certain Netgear routers allows dhcp allocated IP address’s to
be reserved for specific NICs
