Disable WEP on both the router and the laptop. Make sure
the SSID and channel match on both. The TCP/IP properties
on the laptop wireless connection should be set
to "server assigned".
Also on IE, open Tools|Options|Connections and check
either to use LAN only, or dial out only if a connection
is not present. Make sure there is no proxy.
Once you can get to the Internet, enable WEP on both
router and laptop. Make sure both are of the same length
64 or 128 bits.
If you have multiple computers, set the same workgroup on
all of them.
