New Computer on Domain cannot connect to Internet

Hi All,
I have just started the administration for a new company and have took over
the old regime's system.
I have replaced an old 98 computer with a new XP one. I have connected this
to the domain (Server 2003 local domain) just fine and everything works
except internet connection. They do not use any proxy's or anything so am
stumped as to why this one PC will not connect and all the others on site
will.
All settings appear to be the same as the others.
Any ideas?

AD clients that are Win 2k or XP rely on DNS to find the domain. That DNS
server should also provide Internet resolution either through forwarding or
root hints.

What server does the XP computer use for DNS?

I would check the DNS settings first. Or this troubleshooting may help,

This company just have the one server supplying their needs. The DNS settings
if I remember correctly were the same as the other clients however I could be
wrong.

Is the machine able to access a website using the site's IP address?
If so, the problem is DNS related. Also, when you run nslookup on the
problem machine versus the others, do they show the same DNS server?
Lastly (and this may seem obvious but I have to ask), are there any
static DNS entries setup in the TCP/IP settings on the problem
machine? Several times in years past I made the assumption that
everything was set for DHCP, only to find that someone had added a
static DNS server for some reason. Please advise of your results.

No the machine is not able to access any website through the IP address. All
machines show the same DNS server. And there are no static IP's or any other
settings set. The machine gets all this through dhcp.
The one thing which it may be down to, and please advise if this is correct.
But I am not able to get any further than the default gateway. The gateway
appears to be a firewall they have in place. So my guessing is that the mac
addresses of the PC's allowed to access the internet are able to do so and
this new one is not.
Any ideas??

Did not work with the Firewall off or on.

Actually taking a 2nd look, I am now unable to access the firewall controls.
Whether logged on as a user or administrator I am unable to turn off the
Firewall. Any ideas?!
