Thinking of going Broadband but so many providers.

Does anyone have experience of the cheap ones - eg FairBroadband @ £18.49 /
month

Are they any good? How much down time do they have?

Any suggestions / help would be appreciated.

Pete

Go and read the new users section at ADSL Guide & also the message boards
which review customer service (or not ) of most ISPs

Don't go for the cheapest but don't get ripped off. Go a well recommended
company. My personal choices would be (in no particular order of
preference):

a) Nildram - www.getadsl.co.uk
b) Plus.net - www.plus.net
c) Pipex - www.xtreme.pipex.net
d) Clara - www.clara.net
e) Zen - www.zen.co.uk

Paul

I'd add Freedom2Surf to that list - I've been on with them since
16 July. Only 3 months, I know, but no problems at all. And they
e-mail notices of anticipated downtime (invariably so far due to
BT work at my exchange) in advance...

£22.50/month, no connection fee (at least when I signed up). I
access through a Fujitsu FDX310 USB modem, if it's relevant (no
'frog' here as I have a Via chipset mobo).

F2S seem like good people...

i agree add freedom2surf to the list. They are constantly in the top 10
Broadband ISP speed lists and it's only 22.50ukpds

I have had no problems so far apart from when the exchange was upgraded.I
lost the connection for about 6 hours but they even sent me an email to tell
me aboout it.

highly reccomended.
