I keep seeing references to this, as a rumour, but haven't yet caught up
with anything definite...
(will it for instance be a 250kbps service as I've seen _rumoured_ :-)
)
Anyone (eg Sunil???) got a good link please?
Bob

I was on -68dB at my old house, I'm on -65dB here.
Works a treat.

I am 65db here and they wont give me adsl, although part of the reason is
also line length

RADSL will work at 70db no problem _IF_ (& only _IF_ ) the SNR is ok &
seeing as the longer the line length the worse the SNR becomes, it is highly
unlikely.....

But this is BT we are talking about & you never know what mad cap scenario
they are going to roll out next....

sig to noise was 3.5dB & 68dB loss, is much better now at my new house,
6.5dB & 63dB loss (sorry put 65 in earlier post, is actually 63)

Given that ADSL will not work past 6.65 KM, I doubt that 70dB will
happen.

well thats tosh - I was 7km

It depends on your loss and sig/noise - which is very loosely related to the
line length. Line length is purely a guestimate.

They said 2 years ago that it would not work past 3.5km and they managed it.

the ADSL standard states that the maximum distance is 18,000 feet - 6.67
kilometres.

Just proves how wrong some of the BT measurements are that your line
length was recorded as 7KM.
