Networking Windows XP and 98

Problem: I cannot see one of my printers in Network
Neighborhood.

I've networked my home computers. The main one is
running XP, and I have two printers hanging off of it.
One printer is connected to the parallel port, the other
off the USB port. I've designated both printers to be
shared. When I'm on the 98 machine and look in Network
Neighborhood, I can only see the machine connected via
the parallel port.

Why can't I see the other printer?

Never mind. I re-installed the printer and shared it and
now I see it in Network Neighborhood on the XP. Go
figure.

Someone posted this message and forged my name on it. Here's the

It shows someone using (and abusing) the ability to post anonymously
through Microsoft's web-based news group reader. Compare it to the
header of my message, and you'll see that they're completely
different.

And a happy Halloween to you, whoever you are. ;-)

Just think if you hadn't had Steve's help.

Have a look at the NNTP-Posting-Host entries. They suggest that the
OP and the author of the offending message are either one and the
same, or are clients of the same ISP.

Unfortunately, that's another side-effect of using the CDO interface to post
messages. They appear to come from the same posting-host, which is a
Microsoft server. Another clue is the IP address of the posting-host, it's
in the 10.x.x.x private addressing range.

I don't have headers switched on, in my news reader.
I've read other messages from you in my short time
here. Looks like I'll be reading many more.
Nice to see someone still helping out '98 users.
Thanks.

Giving out less candy every year.
Makes it easier to afford better candy.
ALSO, more left over for me.
