HELP!

I am trying to network a Win98 computer to a Win2000.
When I try to map to the Win2000 from the Win98 computer I
receive the message "You must supply a password to make
this connection \\DESKTOP\IPC$".

I am able to access the Win98 computer from the Win2000.

I'm sure I'm missing a simple step - just don't know what
it is!

Thanks!

Add the Win98 user name and password to the Win2000 user list and
grand appropriate permissions. Any user that tries to access a
Win2000 share, either locally or across the network, must be
explicitly defined in the Win2000 user list.

Good Luck...

Thanks for the help - I'm getting much closer! I am now
able to see the Win2000 from the Win98 computer, but I'm
not able to map to the root directory on the Win2000
computer. Do I have to share each individual drive or am
I missing another step?

By the way, you saved my sanity - thanks again.

If you want to be able to do this, use the User tool in the Control Panel an
add your Windows 98 logon to the Administrators group. The default
'whole-drive' shares in Windows 2000 and XP (these are called
"administrative shares", by the way) are only available to
administrator-level users.

Where is this list found in the XP control panel?
