MS-DOS Prompt
Type ipconfig and then press enter (do this for both systems)
Type ping 000.000.0.0 (replace the zero's with the IP address of the other
system, then press enter). You can repeat the proces using the other system
to verify the ping test.
If you get a reply back then you are in business, if not then you will need
to check the network cards and the cable.
