Hi All,
This should be fun. I am connecting my network together with the
following.

Site 1:
WAP11 access point
WSB24 Amplifier
HG2424G 24 dBi Heavy Duty Grid Antenna from hyperlinktechnologies.com
Less than 1' of antenna cable between amp and antenna

Site 2:
WAP11 access point
WSB24 Amplifier
HG2424G 24 dBi Heavy Duty Grid Antenna from hyperlinktechnologies.com
Less than 10' of antenna wire between amp and antenna

The total distance I have to go is about 1300'. I have to go about
600' through the forest. However, 70% of it is a ravine(pretty much
line of site, maybe a few branches). The rest of it is thick 75' tall
mature trees. I am clear cutting some trees if in the way. Spending
$1000 on a 100' tower is out. I am running the WAP11 in bridge mode.

What are your thoughts on this setup? Good, Shaky, Noway in H377?

It will probably fly but I think you have a bit of overkill there.
You can probably do it without the amps. Try it without them first
and if it is reliable leave out the amps.

there are people who are doing this a lot farther than you.. check this
out:

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/rema...wlan~mode=flat

From that, what you're doing is a piece of cake! You have a lot more
capable gear.

Aye, well we have an 8.1 mile link that is capable of running at 3
MBit/Sec but I have it throttled to 2MBit/Sec... to reduce repeats.

He is working thru 600' of trees. 100 meters of trees costs about 30
dB at 2.4 GHz. He should be able to make the link but 60 dB loss due
to absorbtion is NON-trivial...

Well I have finally completed this project. It works, but I had to
almost clear every tree out of the way. I did not use the linksys
wsb24 boosters. And a tip for anybody who wants to do this in the
future..use the diversity setting for the antenna settingson the
wap11. don't bother using the left or right setting.

I have botherd with a point to point link going thru trees. Using high gain
antennas did the trick. Getting a moving signal level but no drop outs now!
Can i ask how far is your link? los? gear used, ect ?
