It said to go to control panel, network, configuration,
windows logon. I do not have windows logon on drop down
list at this place.What now?

Add it by clicking the Add button, then Client, then Microsoft in the
left-hand list.

I have followed your advice and now I have2 more options
1.Quick logon
2.logon and restore network connection(automatically
picked)
I am not savvy enough to change on my own
since I have been changing things, I now have to put in a
password to get my mail which I didn't have to do
previously.

I don't think you're in the right place. Now that you have both Client for
Microsoft Networks and Windows Logon available, what happens when you follow
the steps in the article I quoted to you earlier?
