Nothing in Windows networking requires NetBEUI.
A key to Windows networking is to use the same, single protocol for
file and printer sharing on all computers. That protocol can be
TCP/IP (the best choice in almost all cases), IPX/SPX, or NetBEUI.
The computer that connects to the printers must have File and Printer
Sharing installed. The other computers must have Client for Microsoft
Networks installed, which automatically creates the Network
Neighborhood icon on the desktop.
