There you go generalising again. Many broadband routers have an
integrated switched hub, but not all do.

Ah, the little bit of extra info that completely changes the story
Going Broadband then I echo the router recommendation - but make sure
they get a DSL modem with ethernet and not just USB.

But given the debate over switches vs hubs, I imagine someone will now
post "just use Internet Connection Sharing". )
