I have 3 computers on my network. I use a MN-500 base
station and my laptop can't access the shared files on
the other 2 desktop computers. The desktops have no
problem accessing each others files. It is as if the
Laptop isn't even on the network, even though the base
station detects it. Does anybody know why this is
happening? Thanks, Brendan

Likeyly caused by 1 or more of:

- File and Printing Sharing Not being Enabled
- Windows Firewall Enabled and the File and Printing Sharing exception not
be selected
- The laptop being set to a different Workgroup then the 2 desktops

Thank you for your reply. I now notice that none of the
computers can access any computer's shared files. I made
sure the settings that you listed below were correct, and
they are. I now have no idea why the computers can't
access any of the shared files on my network. Are there
any base station settings that could effect this? Thanks
again, Brendan

Are you running any third-party software firewalls (other than Windows
Firewall)? They would block access, unless programmed to allow the other
computers in.

yes, I use Freedom on the laptop and Norton Personal
Firewall on the desktop. What do I need to make an
exception for in the program? Thanks

You would need to look in Help or the documentation for those programs, but
my guess would be that, yes, you would need to have each allow access from
within your LAN. If you cannot figure it out from the documentation with
the programs, you may need to consult the web support section for each.

Good luck with getting them configured correctly, and solving your file
sharing issues.
