Hello
I have make a local network through a modem. I have 2 machines, one with
W.Millenium and the other with W. XP Sp2. I´ll shared on both the entire disk
with full control.
The problem is i can through XP i open all the folders and files that i have
on W.Millenium machine, but the inverse don´t work.
Through the W.Millenium machine i find the computer, i can enter on it and i
saw the shared folders, but if i try to enter on any one the computer send me
an error message " session not iniciate".
It´s seems to me that when the machine are started they cannot enter on
session.
I don´t know how to resolve this problem because i need full access on both
machines.
Could you give me some help.
Many thanks
Luis Santos

You have to have an account on the Xp machine with the same user name and
password as on the 98 machine

IE on 98 log on as fred with password fred, on the XP create a user called
fred with a password fred.

If you dont log onto the 98 machine (IE you hit cancel at the login prompt )
then you will get an error about the
network not being ready

98 by default uses "Workgroup" and XP uses "Mshome" as their respective
workgroup names, change 98 to MSHOME
then reboot them both and you should be OK

Hello Judslat

I test your suggestion :
I create on XP a user fred with password fred .
the XP workgroup name is : OEMWorkgroup and on Millenium is the same
I reboot the 2 machines and on the Millenium , i used search computers and i
has found my XP machine, after double click on them they show me all the
shared folders, but when i make a double click on the desired folder ,
Millenium return me the same error message :
"Session not iniciate"
Note : i don´t logged on XP with the user name fred , it´s important ?

Could you give me on other suggestion

Thanks
