I have had a network installed and working Ok for some time but recently due
to a problem with my Livebox my network settings have become upset.
Access is denied because I do not have permission and when I looked at each
local area connection status there is a closed padlock on both pictures. How
do I get access accepted?
There is also a problem with my POP incoming mail which again requires
approval by giving my name and password which it does not accept although
they are correct. I don't think the two are connected but thought it better
to mention it

We need more details to help. What do you receive if you do "net view \\remotepcip"?

On both PCs the black screen appears for seconds and then disappears.
On my desktop the network shows both PCs but when I try and access the Laptop I get the following message \\laptop is not accessable. You might not have permission to use this network resource
On the Laptop the network only shows 'Home' and does not show either PC
Hope this helps
Blair

I have succeeded by disabling Zone Alarm from both PCs and running the setup programme again. Hey presto my network returns
I remember having a similar problem with Zone Alarm.
