ok, "Networkable" printers have an eithernet port on them and can be
connected to router, switches... etc. and can be accessed through their own
IP addy, on the other hand, a printer with a parallel port or usb port must
be either connected to a computer with the printer shared OR connected to a
router with a usb/parallel port that is for printserving. in the
printer/computer combo, you must have the computer on to access the printer
connected, with printserver/printer or eithernet printer only the computer
that is printing needs to be on. HTH.
