I had my XP networking with another computer at my old home.

Now it is a stand.alone. It works fine but it is slow to start-up.

What should I do to reset it to what it was before I configured it to
network?

thanks

If it was networked, it is probably looking for a network address. Go to
start, connect to, show all connections. Right click on the LAN adaptor and
disable it.

Thanks, but now I have another doubt

When I get to Network Connections (I'm translating as it is a foreiugn
language) I have two icons:

Local Area 2 Connection + 1394 Connection 2

Which one should I disable? Both?

Just disable the Local Area Connection. 1394 is for the firewire.

If you mapped any drives while it was networked, be sure to Disconnect them.
To do so, right-click on My Computer and then click Disconnect Network
Drive, then choose each drive to disconnect.

It syas I have nothing to disconnect.

I have tried Tony's suggestion but nothing seems to have changed.

Please note that I have XP. I could not find a forum for XP networking.
