Networking laptop with desktop

I am trying to network my laptop (Win 2000Pro) with my desktop (Win XP Pro).
I can access files from my laptop with the desktop computer, but cannot
access files from my desktop using the laptop. The laptop is wireless, the
desktop wired. When I try to access files using the laptop, I get an "Enter
Network Password" window that says "Incorrect Password or Unknown User
Name". No matter what I type in as username or password nothing goes.
