Hi
We are conducting an assignment whereby we are required to select a product works in relation to network management. Our core focus is to focus on the protocol, device and technology.

We have selected the HSRP Protocol, Router device however are still to decide on the technology. My idea was to implement Ethernet however my other group member are adamant it is not a technology associated with the HSRP protocol. The selections should all match and be linked to a specific product we should recommended.

I would appreciate your advice.

If you are using HSRP, you must use a Cisco router or layer 3 switch and, you'll have to use Ethernet.

If you use VRRP, you could use any vendor, but, your still using Ethernet.

Good luck
