I just bought a new laptop and I wanted to be able to use
it on my Office Net and my home net. The Laptop has Win
2000 Pro. My Office has Win 2000 Pro. At home I am running
3 machines with Win 98. I was told by our office IT staff
that I won't be able to run on both nets. Is that true? Is
there a way to config for both? Any help would be
appreciated.

>Depending on the network setting(Workgroups

match,protocals match,users defined by 200pro.)your
networks should work. best bet would be to define these by
what is running at work, so that you dont have to change a
bunch of stuff when you get home.i run xp and 2k pro on
desktop and 98 on my laptop, i dont see why i wouldnt
work, but there are many variations for the setup.

www.netswitcher.com

They make a produce that is perfectly designed for what you want...you
define different configurations for home and work then easily switch
between the two.

Good Luck...

Although you can use Netswitcher or a similar utility to change network
settings, be sure you get your IT/IS department's approval before installing
it.
