Networking Dialog Box for password

I just reviewed all the posts available and it seems this
password dialog box is bugging a lot of folks. I counted
10 to 12 queries with no answers forthcoming.

Is the answer so simple it doesn't warrant an answer or is
it so elusive that the answer just isn't easily there?

Can anyone redirect our queries to a site where the answer
may be available?

Here's the question again.................................

When starting the computer a dialog box comes up:

Enter Network Password
Enter Your Network Password for MicroSoft Networking
User Name
Password

I would assume that local networking has somehow gotten
activated but I have been unable to find how to deactivate
it... which I sure want to do to avoid Dialog Box popup.

Any solution will be much appreciated.
