You're welcome, Els. Please run these tests and report the results on
each computer to help diagnose the problem:
1. Click Start > Run, type the other computer's name in the box in
this form, and click OK:
\\computer
2. Open a command prompt window (XP: Start > Run > cmd; Me: Start |
Run > command) and type these commands, substituting the other
computer's name in the second one:
net view
net view \\computer
Here are the expected results for each test:
1. A window opens showing the shared disks and folders on that
computer. Clicking a shared disk or folder shows its contents.
2. The first command shows the names of both computers. The second
command shows the shared disks and folders belonging to the other
computer.
