Hi,

I'm copying a 8Gb file over the network to a 2003SP1 server with a 2Gb
(teamed) link. The source server is also a 2003SP1 2Gb server.
However, it takes 11 minutes to copy this file. Is this normal
behaviour ? Network utilization also never comes above 5%. Why isn't
the file copy proces not using the full bandwith ? The servers are a
proliant DL360 with HP NC7781 nics.

Franc.

I would imagine the bottleneck maybe the drive subsystem. After all, how
fast can the drives actually read/write data and depending on the type of
drives and subsystem at the source/destination. I can't remember the
specifics, but I think (I hope I got this right) about a 150megabit/s
transfer with SATA and Ultra2 SCSI drives. If the network is at 1000mb (1000
megabits/s), that's faster compared to the drive's capability.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.
