This network used to work....

I have been networking my evolution x xbox with my pc for around 9 months
with no problems. However, I have recently had to reformat Windows XP SP2
and can't seem to network anymore. I use two network cards 1 for the
internet and one for my own private network. The xbox network settings have
never been changed. It has a static ip as does the 2nd NIC. I use Flashfxp
with passive mode disabled (required for the xbox). I can ping the xbox no
probs, and can log in using the username and password, when it tries to
retrieve the directory listing it comes up with an error message. From what
I can work out, the problem is with my PC and doesn't seem to want to
communicate with the xbox. Is there any chance that some files have been
removed/ not installed during the re-installation process for my PC. What
files should i check for ??

Don't know if this will help but I have pasted the flashfxp transcript below
hope someone can help. I understand that a lot of people don't like help
people who are not shall we say doing things by the book and i understand
that. If it is a problem on an open forum, then perhaps someone can email me
privately or chat on msn using the return address.

Probably XP's firewall settings.

Windows firewall is disabled and a "trusted zone" has already been setup in
ZA. ZA has even been disabled and still no joy.

I've heard that Zone Alarm can cause problems even when it's disabled -
I stopped using it years ago because of the crap interface and lack of
configuration options, but maybe it's improved.

Dunno if this matters or not, but I had another device connected a few weeks
ago, which had to have "media sensing" disabled. If I enabled it would it
make a difference?? Only thing is I can't remember how I did it.

I've just tried the xbox on a different computer, running ZA and setting the
xbox ip as a trusted zone. it worked no probs which means that the problem
is with my computer. Are there any files which are essential to networking
which i can check and see if they are missing?
I don't really want to have to reformat just to get it working again.

Thanks
John
