Hello
Domain member servers are set to sync against our PDC-emul using: "net time
\\(servername) /set" from the command prompt once. The PDC-emul has a
reliable external ntp-source.

Questiona:
1. Is it correct that member will prodically sync their clock against that
server?
1.1 If so, how often?
2. Is it necessary to put that line in a startup-script to ensure that our
member servers and workstations stay synchronised?

Regards

There is no real need to configure the time heirerarcy in AD. Member
computers will siny against the authentication DC and DCs will sync against
the PDC emulator role holder without any special configuration. The only
required config item is to configure the PDC emulator role holder against a
reliable external time source, which you have done.

The default sync period is every 45 minutes, from:

Cheers,
Jeremy.
