Currently using a 2nd Netgear router as a switch/wireless access point -
it's a bit Heath Robinson, but it works.

Running out of ports now on my home network what with NAS devices and
network printers attached, so was thinking of getting a Netgear FS108 8
port switch and losing the 2nd router (I don't need the WAP)

Decent enough for home use, or should I consider something else?

I've been using the FS108 now for a year or so and never had a minutes
bother.
It runs cool and totally silent. For £10 off eBay you can't go wrong.
If I was in the market for getting one now, I'd probably go for the GS108
which is Gigabit.
