Network Suddenly Demands Password

My 3 PCs [WindowsXP Pro] have been happily working together for some time.
Not sure what changed but suddenly one remote PC is asked for a password to
access one [but not both] of the other PCs. [The folders are visible.]
Of course, I have never set a password.
Simple file shareing is on.
Where do I look to fix this?
Thank you.

For sure if your PCs are connected to the Internet, and really even if
they aren't, you need to password protect any and all shares with a
strong password! Use the same login name and password on all of them,
and you should have no problem with prompting.

That sounds like good advice.
But where do I look to add the password to start with?
I'm temporarily lost here.

Simple but I've never messed with accounts before.
Thank you.
