Hello,

I have setup a new 98 machine under the workgroup Network.

Within this workgroup is another 2000 pro workstation, when I try connecting
to the 2000 Pro worksation it is asking for a //computername/IPC$ share
password.

Where can I find this IPC$ share password on the 2000 box? I have looked all
over, we do not know the IPC$ share password.

Thanks in Advance,
Jordan

Create a duplicate user account on the Win 9x machine that
matches a username and password on theW2k pro machine.

With his 2000 Pro workstation he doesnt login with a username or password,
it just loads the desktop like a standard 95 or 98 operating system. what do
I do in that case?

Regards,
Jordan

Thanks, I will try that out and hope that it works

P.S - So from what I am gathering by creating and logging into the same
username/password as the 2000 workstation, will eliminate the IPC$ share
password to connect to that computer?

Thanks for your help!

Jordan

The IPC$ response is an error letting you know the user account
is not recognized by the W2k pro machine.
