We have a directory on a server 2003 machine that is accessed by 3 people.
The permissions are all setup correctly and all the can access the share.
However, one of the three will lose his connection to the share on the server
daily. Typing \\<servername>\<share> shows a blank folder when an hour
earlier it worked. The other two still will have acess to the share.
One other thing is typing in \\<servername> will only show a share that has
not existed for 6 months and no other active shares.
Does this information get cached? How is it that he sees an invalid share
that isn't there? Mapping a drive to the valid share when it worked has not
fixed the issue.
