Network Share Failure

I am having trouble getting the network share to work on a particular WIIN ME
computer. I go to the Network Icon in control panel, then select file and
print sharing, and then click apply. Everything appears to work (no error
messages). But, when I go to a printer or drive to share it, no Share menue
item appears.

I have tried running the Network Share Wizare, but after the point where you
set the Workgroup Name a bright blue screen appears with a general error
messages and then the wizard exits.

Any ideas on how I could fix this?
