We have DSL to an external modem, connected to wireless adapter, then to
the 1st computer. Using the network setup wizard, after selecting my
connection (DSL), the next window says: ('cannot complete the network setup
wizard' other computers cannot connect to the internet thru this computer. In
addition to its Internet connection, this computer must have a connection to
your network.)
We have a laptop with printer and another desktop successfully
connected to the Internet, all wireless.
Its as though the wizard doesn't see any of this connectivity. Can
someone help me get past this roadbolck please. Thanking you in advance,
Grays

Hi

There is something wrong with the computer's Network configuration.

Let the Wizard rest and try to debug and configure the Network manually.

In General, you can debug the Network Settings of a computer by following
these steps.

Check the Network parameters in the Computer's Device Manager. Make sure
that the Network Card drivers are installed correctly; i.e. there is No IRQ
conflict, and No Ghost installation. http://www.ezlan.net/faq#ghost

Step Two. Verify Basic network setting in the OS:
http://www.ezlan.net/Installing#verify If the above two Steps indicates that
every thing looks good but functionally it does not work.

Step Three. Check (and repair if necessary) the Socket Layers, Winsock, and
or refresh the TCP/IP Stack. http://www.ezlan.net/clean#refreshnet

If need to Reinstall; Log to this page it have a lot of links to
instructions for Windows Network
Installation -http://www.ezlan.net/Installing.html

Jack, Thanks, I'am a bit challenged with this and this is where I'm at:
following your instructions, when I get to 'install' "client" at LAN
Propertiies, the dialog box 'select network client ' (unable to find any
drivers for this devise) appears instead of 'Client for Microsoft Networks' .

Jack, in fact, after I sent the last reply, I tried to intsall the 'QoS' and
'File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks' and the same dialog comes
up asking for a driver 'disk'

I have had a similar problem. Finally (by accident, since I could find this
nowhere in MS Answers) I enabled Windows Media Connect on both computers.
Each computer (1 desktop, 1 laptop) can now 'see' and 'speak' to each other.
The laptop can also connect to Internet via the desktop.
