I'm setting up a two computer network through a router,
wireless machine using XP Home and hardwired machine
using Me. The Me machine seems to set up fine, but when
I try to open my network icon on the XP machine it tells
me I might not have permission to access that workgroup.

Is it XP Pro or Home Edition?

I have quite the same problem, but with both computers
with XP. Did you get any solution?

I noticed the same thing, an xp pc that is wired couldn't
see the wireless laptop running me. It wasn't rights.
cause on a command line I could map a drive letter to a
shared drive using the ip address.
you would do it like this "net use g: \\192.168.1.130
\cdrive where cdrive is the share name for c: and the ip
is that pc's ip. I was then able to copy any files i
wanted.
Conclusion... I think the wireless station may be too
transparent for network neighborhood to deal with. well
i'm not in a big rush to solve this so i will slowly check
it out more.
