This response sounds closest to what may be my answer.
I just set up a Belkin wireless router. I hard-wired my XP machine and have
a Belkin PC adapter for my 98SE machine. The Internet connex thru the router
is fine but I hit trouble trying to set up File and Printer Sharing. The XP
machine does not have a floppy so I was not able to use the Create Network
Setup Disk option. It said I could use the XP CD to do the setup but when I
tried it I got an error for the winxpchk application - "Performed illegal op
and must shut down..."
I tried grabbing all the latest updates to 98SE but still no luck that route.
So I guess my question is - will the steps outlined here work in my case?
TIA,
Steve
