Network Routing Problems???

Hello All,

I am having problems getting a connection to my FreeBSD gateway from my
Mandrake 10 Linux Machine. I am able to ping, traceroute, ssh etc. the
linux box from my freeBSD machine however I am not able to ping the
gateway. What could be the problem, this is my configuration:

FreeBSD: Gateway, IPFW & NAT running
HOSTNAME="redgate"
dc0 - 24.199.***.*** [DHCP]
txp0 - 192.168.1.1
txp1 - unassigned

Mandrake 10: Workstation
HOSTNAME="metalgate"

[root@metalgate:] route
Destination Gateway Genmask Interace
192.168.1.0 * 255.255.255.0 eth0
127.0.0.0 * 255.0.0.0 lo0
default 192.168.1.1 0.0.0.0 eth0

[root@metalgate:] ifconfig eth0

[root@metalgate:] ping 192.168.1.1

So - do you allow ICMP echo replies ?
It seems you might have filtered these out.

I think your right Jeroen are you familiar with FreeBSD and ipfw rules?
