network resources setup

does anyone know how to find this on your pc my brother has an external ip
address for his broadband and needs to make sure his pc is set up to use
dhcp

Using Windows ?

Depending on the version of windows (i`m on 98se):

right click over "network neighbourhood" and hit "properties"

select the TCP/IP adapter on your machine and hit "properties"

under "IP Address" make sure "obtain IP address automatically" is ticked

Hit OK... you will probably have to reboot.
