I came across one of those thumbdrivers with 128mb, and have great success
moving files from one computer to another without all the hassle of setting up
a p2p. Of course its limited as far as needing to sign on the internet and
sharing hugh files..but for me, I find these little gadgets are great . There
are even larger capacity's 256, 512mb..it may one day take the place of the
hard drive, if and when they will get even larger. In fact I read somewhere
that there is a gizmo called os or something to that effect that one can put on
average 20 movies on the size of a nickel.

If you don't mind walking from computer to computer with your thumbdrive
"sneaker net" works very well. If you don't want to walk from computer to
computer then a network is necessary.

I can't imagine any business wanting their employees walking all over the
place with thumbdrives rather than sharing files over the network.

<grin>That's because I'm sitting here in the Cascades, in a deep canyon.
Love the echos. Wireless works great from my tent. </grin>

Actually, I must have had a twitch as I posted. No harm no foul.
