As far as I can remember, when connecting pc's by use of thinwire eth (10 Mbits) it's not necessary to use a hub - this system is used as a backbone. May be I'm wrong - but each pc is connected by a T-plug, only at each end of the network you have to use terminators (50 or 75 ohm ???). Any further ideas what could be wrong ?? -- Besten Dank / Thank you very much Tom |

Thin ethernet (10base2) is coaxial cable, as is thick ethernet (10base5). If you're using 10baseT, you need a cross over cable or hub (or switch). If using thin ethernet, you're using coax cable, which will require T connectors and terminators. -- Fundamentalism is fundamentally wrong. If you are using Combo cards, make sure that the kernel is sending the packets to the correct interface type. It's hard to give you more precise answers if you don't provide more details. Please show the output of "ifconfig" and "route -n" on those machines. What kind of cards are you using? ISA? If so, check the IRQ settings in the systems' CMOS.
