I have a client with the following scenario :
1 Windows98 machine.
The others are Windows XP Pro. One of the XP Pro machines shares a
printer that all other workstations print to.
All machines are in the same domain.
Everything worked great until the computer that shares the printer was
updated through WindowsUpdate.
Now the Windows98 computer can not connect to the shared printer
anymore. When trying to add a new printer (as a test), the sharing
workstation can be seen, but can not be accessed. The error message is
"Cannot find the logon server".
I've updated the Windows98 machine through Windowsupdate also, to no
avail (I thought there may have been a change in file sharing security
that was applied to the XP machine and a similar update was available
for the W98).
I'm at my wit's end. I could upgrade the computer to W2K, but I
personally think that pc is a bit too old for that.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
w8in
