Hi All,

I used netstat command on a server machine with windows server 2003, now am
looking for some ports established, I just want to know what these ports are
related to, applications? services? if so, what are these applications or
services?
mainly I want to know if there is a way that let me know what these ports
are related to??

Note: Ports are larger than 1200

Many thanks,
MSN

Hi Mohammad,

Use netstat -ano to show you the process identifier (PID). Then go to task
manager and see the process associated with that identifier.

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/832017/en-us.

This lists all the ports used by Windows Server 2003, but be aware that some
port umbers are dynamically assigned (e.g. for RPC) - see the reply from
Masterplan for how to get some information about those.

It's perfectly useless to know the right answer to the wrong question.
