network path not found when i use FQDN on Shares

Hello,

We have a Windows 2003 SP2 fileserver with some shares and Windows XP Sp3
clients. Its a windows 2003 domain.
I can access the shares with \\server\share and all works fine, but when i
use the FQDN for the Server \\server.domain.com\share i get the error message:
Network path not found

What is here the problem?

DNS woks fine, nslookup and ping works fine on both, FQDN and NetBIOS
any other ideas?

Try adding server.domain.com to Trusted sites.
I think the problem may be in Group Policy automatic detection of intranet
sites,
