I am running 2k3 with 3 clients. When I do 'My Network places",
sometimes not all the computers are there, specially the server and
sometimes they are all there. All the cables seem to be working fine.
What could be the problem?

Hello:

I am involved in a project to deploy new Vista PCs to our network using
WINPE. We are using certificate authentication via wired 802.1x

The problem I am running into is that the PCs when booting up are unable to
authenticate on to the network to access the resources on our W2003 servers
due to the 802.1x authentication issue.

We had no problem configuring our W2003 server components, our Nortel
switches to make it work and, existing wired clients are able to authenticate
fine. It is only the WINPE clients cannot due to the fact that the OS is not
installed.

What can I do to make this work?

Thanks a million in advance for any help on this issue.

- Greg M.

Only computers that enable sharing in the network can be seen in the "My
Network places". It is not recommended to share a computer if you don't need
to access it.
