Hi,
I am looking for a tool which can help me analyze my
network, Like for example if people complain about network
slowdown I can use this tool and see which nodes creating
huge traffic or who does what and give me high level info
like if a user doing some online streaming I can catch it
easily with url and other info , Actually I didn't find
windows network monitor a good tool to do this kind of
jobs (I checked it on NT and not sure if there is big
difference for Windows 2003). So does anyone know a good
tool so I can have more control on clients?
Thanks for any help-Rob

I would look at RRDTool/MRTG. You could also use something like Cacti which
will also monitor any SNMP device and graph it with RRDTool. It also has
alerting capabilities. I think it runs on MS, but I would suggest using
linux.

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your posting here.

I think that the tools like Netmon or Sniffer can do such jobs but you may
need to analyse the log youself.

You can also check if the manufacture of your network devices has such tool
whick can monitor the network traffice. There are also many third-party
professional Network Management/Monitor application, you can search on the
Internet.

Have a nice day!

Lots of tools for this at:
http://www.monitoring-software.net/n...g-software.htm
that allow for network monitoring.
