Network issue

I have recently upgraded our windows 2000 DC to Windows
2003 Server. After performing this upgrade I have had
some users report that while trying to open an Excel
(office xp and 2003) file from the network Excel fails to
open and shows "not responding" from the task manager.
We are unable to end the task, and unable to logoff or
shutdown. The pc must be powered off before excel would
work again.

I have not been able to find a pattern as it does not
happen on the same files or to the same person. It does
appear to be limited to only my Windows 2000 workstations
(some on sp3 others on sp4) no one running on Windows XP
has reported this issue.

There are no event logs being generated on the
workstations.

If anyone has seen a similar issue I would appreciate any
help you can give.

Thank You
