Network Everywhere PCMIA

I recently purchased an Network Everywhere PCMIA card
10/100. I got the lights on my D-Link Router working, and
the lights on the Card working properly. However I get
this error message upon boot up on Windows 98

the message i get from windows networking is : Your
network adapater Network Everywhere Fast Ethernet 10/100
PC Card (NP100) (0005) is not working properly. You may
need to set it up again. For more information, see the
Network Troubleshooter in Windows Help

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

remove the card , boot into safe mode ....remove all references to network
cards in device manager

reboot and try the install again
