Windows 98SE is installed on integrated Silicon Image chip
driven MB with SATA HD; while built into its SATA Gigabyte
Motherboard GA-8KNXP, the NEW "Intel PRO/1000 CT" Network
adapter (not a separate card) results in upon boot after
initial driver installation "your network adapter is not
working properly. You may have to set it up again.. blah
blah ".. Message will be intermittent if the sound card is
placed into a different pci slot thereby the system giving
the built-in Intel network adapter a different IRQ (10),
and then if I reinstall the network adapter after removal
of the device in device manager and reboot, the message
will go away, but the message keeps coming and going
especially after any software changes are made in windows
and a reboot is required like windows update, yet, I click
ok on the message at windows wallpaper, windows finishes
booting, and the adapter seems to function properly
whether it says it does or not.....Any Insights to this
prob. will be appreciated. No message about adapter if IRQ
is 10, MEMORY: FC000000-FC01FFFF, I/0: B000-B01F, at the
moment. STRANGE
