You did not provide enough information to diagnose this.
When this issue occurs, how did you determine that the cable modem cannot be
accessed? Did you perform pings?
1 What type of server is the 2003 machine, a DC, member server, or SBS?
2. Does it have DHCP running on it?
3. What are you using for DNS address in IP properties?
4. What machine is the DHCP server?
5. Is this an AD network? If so, describe each server's role please.
Please provide an unedited ipconfig /all from the two 2000 machines and the
2003 machine. Please do not edit the results or it will lead to additional
guessing on our part.
