How many people are there in your office?

Not sure about your Nortel switch, but our Netgear switch has activity
lights that blink when traffic is passing... if you have activity
lights, then check it when the internet slows down and simply unplug
that line. Surely someone will speak up!

Also, look for file sharing apps such as Kaaza or Limewire...

Reg - who is still trying to figure out how to mount a network drive on
a 98se machine!

BTW, there is a function under "Switch Configuration". That is "Display
Port Statistics". From this function, you can know the amount of
packets through which port. Or you can use SNMP software such as MRTG
to get statistics of every ports.

I'm hoping this is an ISO file, which you can easily burn with Nero or
whatever.

If you want, you can use Daemon tools to mount the image as a virtual
drive from your PC. This method I use for my gaming CD's... loads
faster and never wears out.

You don;t need to download the image file of 425-24T. Use a console
cable to connect to that switch.
Then, you can use HyperTerminal to connect to the switch.
Hit "Ctrl" + "Y" when you see a Nortel banner popup and you will see a
menu.
At that menu, follow the steps I mentioned to read the MAC table of
425-24T.
425-24T records all MAC addresses of every clients connected to it.
So you can know which client connects to which port.
After it, compare with the IP-MAC list from DHCP serever, you can know
the IP address connecting to a port.

Finally, use "Port Statistics" command to see the amount of packet
through a port and you will know who downloads big files.
