Hi Guys,

I have a client with a windows 2000 server, strange one but last week the
clients system start doing wierd stuff, i ran a full virus scan and nothing
so i ask them to reboot the server. it came back up fine but when i tried to
connect to the internet nothing, i could ping websites and nslookup ip
addresses.

i then tried accessing the network connections and nothing came up, looked
around the internet but can't find anyone who has had this problem,

can't start the following services; all error on start with error 1053

network connections
telephony
remote access connection

i have tried a windows overlay but still no joy, what has also happened is
the overlay has put the system onto SP3, so i d/led SP4 and tried installing
it, but it had frozen on inspecting current system config?

i have added another NIC to the server and disabled to onboard one and still
not a thing. someone with this experience please try and help me out as i
thinking a full rebuild might be the last resort?

Regards
