Network Connections Problem

I have a wireless internet connection that is working perfectly right now,
but I do not have any wireless network icon in my Network Connections. As I
am trying to enable ICS on my wireless network which I have done succesfully
on a laptop, I need to open the properties window which is impossible due to
the fact that it is not listed. I'm running XP Pro with SP2 and all the
latest updates and have a Dell TrueMobile 1300 USB2.0 adapeter. Any help
with this problem would be greatly appreciated as Dell support has absolutely
no idea.

Can you see your wireless adapter in Device Manager?

Click Start > Run... and type: services.msc and click Ok

Is the Wireless Zero Config service set to 'Automatic' and has it started?

My wireless adapter is listed in device manager but it does not support
Wireless zero. Whenever Zero is started, I lose my connection so no, it is
not set to automatic/started.

Tried that already, but it didn't work. I'm not sure that my computer even
recognizes that I have a wireless connection.

I believe I have the exact same problem as BBoett here.
I am trying to use a USB wireless adapter on my computer, and I'm utterly
stuck because the "Wireless Networking" icon doesn't appear in both the
System Tray or the Network Connections folder.

The important points:
- The OS is WinXP Home, SP2, updated with fixes regularly.
- The Wireless Adapter is a D-Link G132. The latest drivers are installed.
- XP lists the Adapter as "Enabled" in the Device Manager, recognizes it
correctly as a G132, and can tell when it's being plugged and unplugged, but
doesn't activate the "Wireless Networking" icon anywhere.
- Wireless Zero Configuration is "Active" and starts "Automatically".
- D-Link support has absolutely no idea, and recommends contacting Microsoft.

Any help you could provide me and BBoett here would be greatly appreciated.
