Network connection very low

For some reason in my room the wireless network connection on my laptop is
very low, yet elsewhere in the house it is strong. This has been annoying me
lately because often I get cut off of the internet because of the weak
connection. Is there any way I can prevent this/make my connection stronger?

Use Netstumbler from www.netstumbler.org to check the wireless coverage in
each part of your house. It's a fantastic bit of software for both finding
wireless hot spots and checking realtime wireless network signals.

Once you know you've got a weak signal, you can either move your access
point or get a directional antennae like the previous post mentions or buy a
repeater.
