Use Netstumbler from
www.netstumbler.org to check the wireless coverage in
each part of your house. It's a fantastic bit of software for both finding
wireless hot spots and checking realtime wireless network signals.
Once you know you've got a weak signal, you can either move your access
point or get a directional antennae like the previous post mentions or buy a
repeater.
